Time to roll out the giant pumpkins!

September 30th, 2008

Greetings Community Garden members,

  1. Pumpkin selling: those that want to help with pumpkin sales please reply with the times you would like to work. The work schedule is attached for your information. This Saturday has extra time on it because there is a lot of work to get things set up, especially in the morning. So the morning time is critical.
  2. Many have been doing a good job scheduling themselves to work to get their time in. If you still have some time to put in and/or you are signed up for the winter, your time needs to be worked during October because the weather does not allow much work after that. There will be some, like digging carrots in the mud!
  3. Speaking of carrots, one person has dug carrots for all of you. That is a new item along with tomatoes, beets, winter squash, and pumpkins now. Keep coming to get your veggies since we are at the peak of the season.
  4. Canning/freezing: There are many tomatoes now so call us with your needs and we will have them for you before disease sets in. There is still corn, beans, and beets too.

We hope you have been having a great year working on your farm and eating organic veggies. Let’s have a great October to finish up the summer season, which ends October 31.
